How to connect laptop to LCD TV?

Hi friends,

I have another question apart from the query regarding the memory card type for which I opened a separate thread in this section. I have the Toshiba Satellite X205-S9800 (configuration can be seen in my signature) and a 32" LCD TV (LG 32LC7R). I want the display of my laptop to the LCD TV. Is this possible? How to do it?

The manual of the laptop says to use the s-video out facility. However, there is also a HDMI port in the laptop. There's also a HDMI-in port on the back of the TV.

My set of questions:

1) What is HDMI?
2) So will a HDMI cable suffice to connect both the TV and the computer?
3) How much does a HDMI cable cost?
4) Also, if I use a HDMI cable, will I get a HD display on the TV? My TV is HD capable.

Will this be sufficient?

It says only male-male connector. Output should be from my laptop and input to the TV, resolution should be HD. As I mentioned, the TV 2 inputs, one a HDMI in, and another a HDMI/DVI in.
