how to compress a scanned photo

hi guys i got my school group photo scanned and i saved on my hdd but its whopping 7 mb n resolution is 3514x 2567x24b can i compress it without affecting its clarity?THANKS:)

You can do that to various sizes depending upon your requirements.

Download Freeware: PIXresizer

Alternatively you could download WindowsXP Powertoys( for Windows Genuine Users).....

Image Resizer Power toy

This power toy integrates with system default right click menu. Just click photo and right-click to resize!

It depends upon how much resize you are doing. If you choose too small file size, then obviously you will get pixlated image when you zoom. For normal viewing and 6"x4" size photo prints, resize images to 1632x1224 size. Bigger the prints required>Larger the size.

use acdsee for conversion
jus convert it to JPG at 100%

or use Photoshop

simple

with virtually no chopped quality.

If you want lossless Image quality then save the file in PNG format. If you need to
print the Image then save it in TIFF format. Remember JPEG is lossy. So better use
PNG or TIFF format.
