Windows XP Home Edition. Cleaned the REGISTRY using Regcleaner. After that automatic downloading of Windows XP Home Edition is not done (automatically). Not know the exact reason.How to correct it

Probably the software turned off Automatic updates. Goto Control Panel>Automatic Updates and turn them on.

What are the things necessary for automatic updates?

Open services.msc from Start>>Run and check if these two services are running: Automatic Updates ans Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
