How good is this psu and Ram?

EVM DDR3 4 GB PC RAM (EVMT4G1333U86D): Flipkart.com

I couldn't find any reviews of either. Now, the psu is a seasonic, so I'm hoping it'll be good.

And about the ram.... What I want to know if it's high or low density, and how well does iv perform.

That Seasonic PSU seems to be a good option. You better confirm about Seasonic's service from Flipkart and Tirupati (call on their number mentioned in flipkart).

For RAM better go with GSkill or Corsair.

The config is i3 2120 +hd 7770 + 1 hdd. Extreme psu calculator rates the config at 291 watts, so I figured 400w would be a good option

Also, I was going for corsair cx 430 at first, but the reports of random failures has forced me to drop it

there is no doubt that the seasonic 400W is a good PSU.you can sure go with that.i just said cx430w because you will get 30w extra and i also thought that it is cheaper but looks like those days are gone.

Hey guys,

While Seasonic is, no doubt, a reputable and reliable brand, it is not possible to find this particular PSU (SS-400-BT) on either seasonic.com or seasonicusa.com. I'm inclined to think it's a fake. I managed to find this page: [Preview] Seasonic SS-400BT ECO Series | murah tapi tak murahan! but it's in... Malay?? If somebody could confirm that this is indeed a genuine Seasonic product, I'd be very grateful. I emailed Flipkart a month ago, asking where I can find this product info on manufacturer's site and didn't get a reply.

EDIT: As for the RAM, I suggest to go for Corsair or G.Skill. EVM is by no means a reliable/reputable brand while those two are. Since you have i3-2120, it doesn't support 1600 MHz natively so 1333 MHz is good enough for you. Here is the list of RAMs on Flipkart I'd recommend, specifically this one which I have purchased dozens of (not from Flipkart, but exactly the same part) with no complains to date (some of them are 2 years old now) and a 10 year warranty.

cx430v2 failure?? read the technical review on hardwaresecrets. its a solid build and high reliability and good performance.

look, as electronic equipments, they are bound to fail some time or the other.. and one or two do fail and the owners create a huge ruckus over it trying to bring the company down, while those do not fail, dont say a word.. you have read those fail comments. you have to realise, that only a few fail in a whole batch. and even if it fails, there is corsair's rock solid ASS.

now-a-days psu makers are launching cheap models with slightly less build quality(but still much better than local psu) for specific markets(read india,china etc).corsair launched such a model vs450 & it didn't appeared on their international website for months even when it was available here.

Looks like flipkart had a glitch in their pricing. The psu actually IS pricer. Mods can close this thread.
