In a move similar to Google’s recent increase in security for Gmail, Microsoft has introduced new security features in Hotmail that makes it harder to hijack accounts and making it easier for users to recover their accounts in the event it is hijacked.

To make things more secure, in order to change the new security measure or add one, users will need to have access to at least one existing ownership verification method, ensuring that hijackers will not be able to lock legitimate users out of their accounts easily.

To access these settings in Hotmail, click on Options link in the upper right corner of the screen, and select Account from the menu or visit *account.live.com/ and find Password reset information. You will find four options there Email, Mobile phone, Trusted PC and Question.
