1) What is your budget? (INR or USD) Rs50-60K

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
• Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Dell, Sony, HP, but open to any brand
b. Dislike: No

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
1) Downloading upto 75 GB per month
2) Watching Movies HD
3) Very High usage of Youtube
4) Excel, Word
5) Trading Software like Amibroker
6) Listening to songs

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
Screen resolution preferred to be great since watching HD movies

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
No games, No programming etc..purely for entertainment purpose as mentioned in point 4. Price between Rs50-60K. But if the laptop/notebook is really good could go upto Rs70K. Would be great to have Windows 7 or more. I prefer i3 or i5.

This is my first post in the forum and I really appreciate your help. Thank you all.

if Full HD moviewatching is your primary criteria then take a laptop with a FHD screen- Dell Inspiron 15R Turbo with FHD for 55k and Sony Vaio S Series (SVS15115FNB) for 69k. I have the former and believe me the movie experience is awesome.

You can still watch hd movies at 720p in the normal mainstream resolution of 1366x768.

But since your budget is good, you can go for this: The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

Dell Inspiron 15R Turbo:

Specs:

PROCESSOR 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor (3M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz)
KEYBOARD Dell™ Backlight Chiclet Keyboard with Multi-touch Touchpad (English)
LCD BACK COVER LCD Back Cover - Aluminum (ICC)
DISPLAY 15.6" FHD Anti-glare (1920x1080) For ICC
MEMORY 8GB 2 DIMM (4GB x2) DDR3 1600Mhz
HARD DRIVE 1.0TB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
VIDEO CARD AMD Radeon™ HD 7730M DDR3 2GB - ICC
OPTICAL DRIVE 12.7" SATA Tray Load DVD+/-RW

Price: Rs.54,490 + Taxes.

The above specs maybe too much for your specified requirements, but this is the best and only option if you want to go for a FHD screen within your budget.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since you are able to stretch till 70k, There is one more option:

The Sony Vaio S 15:

The i5 version costs approx 68k. I really like this laptop/ultrabook.
The design is just awesome. And it fits your requirements perfectly:D

Online:

Flipkart: Rs.68,500.

Snapdeal:

Win8 model: Rs.67,655.

Win7 model: Rs.68,000.

Sony Vaio SVS15125CNB: Windows 8. (2012- refreshed model).

Sony Vaio SVS15115FNB: Windows 7.

The only other difference b/w the above models is the HDD.

Win8: 750gb.
Win7: 640gb.

Yes, if you want FHD screen within your budget, those two are your only options. Unless you are able to import laptops from the US- then there are many options.

for your requirements you need not even spend that much.
but if you want an awesome screen, either dell 15r turbo or sony SVS15115FNB is the way to go.

the Inspiron 17R Turbo is also available with a FHD screen, and a better graphics card. However at 17 inch screen it is quite heavy and bulky- consider only if using as desktop replacement.

You have good budget for a full HD 1080p laptop. Go with Dell Inspiron Turbo laptop. It's great for your requirements and has better after sales with damage cover unlike vaio.
