Help regarding Windows Critical Updates

Hi ppl
I have Windows XP Professional installed from a SP2 integrated CD. I also have installed all the Windows Updates from the Windows Update Website. Now, I want to format the drive to reinstall Windows XP. But then, I will have to install the the critical updates again. Is there any way that i can backup the files. C:\WINDOWS\$hf_mig$ folder contains all the critical updates in the folders but will these help??

A WU backup is located here:

C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Try copying all files from this localtion, and with files without any extension try renaming them with .EXE or .CAB extensions....
