Help Regarding LAN

Me and my friend both have a dell xps 17....now we want to play games(cod:mw3,battlefield 3 etc) on our wifi....can it be done????if so how....

Get wifi router or wifi router cum modem from market or directly from your isp and replace your existing Internet modem(if not a wifi enabled). If you are not using net then get a wifi router only.

P.S: Get a 802.11n standard device, if your laptop supports the same.

u can create an adhoc wifi connection between the two laptop's also so that u can avoid router in between.

both our laptops have a wifi card n i also have a wifi router....

i created a ad-hoc but r u sure that it vil help us play multiplayer games????

No ad hoc won't help you if you playing from some distance and it will break. Ad hoc works without any help of router, which only makes your network signal weak. So use it for only emergency, in areas where you can't access to any router device. Im really not getting any idea why you want to use ad hoc when you got a router at you place.-)

new big games require more network bandwidth. better use ethernet cable (RJ45) or u need a high power router.
if both laptops are not far enough then adhoc will also do..
