Which world are u in raven. The one he downloaded is completly legal. Its the Windows XP 64 bit Preview 1 available for 1 year.

@anup_sonnad the one u downloaded is & has to be a .iso file, its just that WinRAR is used to open up its contents. So just burn the whole thing as it is and the do the installation

Yup, its free and its been up for download from as far back as I can remember, but its still in RC, and its still an evaluation, a Customer Preview Program and is still time-limited. It would be better to just wait and go in for the full version release thats bound to come out real soon.

Well bro if you really want to make a XP64 bit CD bootable then do as follows =>
List of required materials =>
An ORIGINAL Windows XP installation CD (Home or Professional Edition).
A PC with a CD-RW drive
the following software installed =>
Windows XP (Home or Professional Edition).
Nero Burning Rom CD mastering software version 6 or higher.
ISO Buster available from => www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/
A blank 700MB CD-R.

Now extract the Win XP64 bit files in any folder.

Create the bootable CD
Use ISO Buster to extract the boot loader from the original Windows XP CD =>
Insert the Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM drive.
Start ISO Buster. It should automatically open the CD.
Click on => Bootable CD
Right-click on: Microsoft Corporation.img. A menu will pop up.
Select Extract Microsoft Corporation.img.
Extract Microsoft Corporation.img to the folder on the hard drive where the Windows XP64 bit files are stored.
Start Nero Burning ROM
Select CD from the drop-down box in the New Compilation window if it is not already selected.
Select => CD-ROM (Boot) in the New Compilation window. (Scroll down the list).
Click on the Boot tab.
Select Image file
Use the BROWSE button to locate the Microsoft Corporation.img file.
Enable Expert Settings.
Select: No Emulation.
Change the Number of loaded sectors to 4
In the ISO tab select every option and change the "file name length" to MAX 32, format to MODE 1 and character Set to ISO 9660
Click on the Volume Label tab.
The Volume Label should be the same as the original Windows XP64 bit ISO.
Click the New button.
In the File Browser select all files (and folders) from the folder that contains the Win XP64 bit files.
Drag these files and folders and and drop them into the ISO1 window.
Insert the blank CD-R into the CD-burner.
Make sure the correct burner is selected. The name/model number of the burner should been shown where "Image Recorder" is shown in the screenshot.
If the drop box contains "Image Recorder" then click it and select the name of the burner. If "Image Recorder" is the only choice then there is no burner available.
Click on Recorder on the menu bar.
Select Burn Compilation.
The following options should be automatically selected: Write, Finalize CD (No further writing possible!), Disc-at-once. If they are not selected, select them now. Buffer underrun protection will only be selected if the burner supports it.
Click the Burn button.
"Burn time" depends on the speed selected. Suggested speed range: 12X to 20X. The CD can be burn at faster speeds (if the burner supports it) but it may suffer reliability problems if burned at speeds above 20X.
Nero may throttle the speed of the burner regardless of the speed selected by the user. e.g. user selects 16X burn speed but nero burns at 8X.

When you download it its already in a bootable ISO format, why on Earth would you want to extract the contents of the ISO and then go through that entire charade? Plus, he said that when he extracted the files, it turned out to be 950MB. Why extract the files from the ISO and go through the entire process when the file you download is an ISO in itself? :?

Dang! Yes, I didnt read it. But the heck on Earth would he download a RAR file? But he did say that it was 950MB when he extracted the RARs and tried to make a bootable CD.

I also tried to convert the connents in to a bootable XP but the image turns out to be 950MB ,i dont know wat 2 do

Plus, even the RC2 ISO put up for download via the CPP is about 450MB. So, beats me as to why and where he got the RAR version from that expands to 950MB. Anyways, he can either follow your bootable CD option or just plain download the bootable ISO image from here:
*www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/evaluation/upgrade.mspx

And BTW, I can read normal font, you dont have to make it bold.
