i have a 80gb hard disk and it is divided into 4 parts - 20 each. i had installed windows xp on the c drive long ago. then i had recently installed windows vista on one of the partitions. yesterday i had to format my c drive, so i installed xp again on that drive. but after reinstallation i am not getting any option during booting to start vista. is there any way by making changes in the "boot.ini" file or something else to get vista back without formatting again??

PLEASE HELP!!!

Since you installed XP after Vista, it has overwritten Vista boot loader. Boot using Vista Setup DVD and choose the repair option.
Another easier method is "Vista Boot Pro" or "EasyBCD". Just install any of them and they can repair Vista boot loader.
