help me please..suggestions for a new speaker system.

i have onboard soundcard ac97 installed on my computer. i want to buy a new speaker so i want to know which type of system i can install wheather it is 2.1, 3.1 ,4.1 or i have to buy a new card

First, sorry, i dont understand your question properly, please be more clear. What's your AC97 chipset's type? they are available in 2 ch, 6ch, 8ch.

my mobo is intel 845 chipset and audio hardware is intel 82801/bam ac97 audio controller

man, you can only attach a 2.1 audio to your mobo's sound port. otherwise you can opt for a better sound card (5.1, 7.1 etc)
