Playback Issue on Dell Studio 1557!

Hey guys , I have a desktop and a laptop at home

I got the laptop just a year back

Dell studio 15 customized around Rs.63,000
Comes with an ATI mobility Radeon HD 4570

The Desktop :

CPU Type : QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2400 MHz (9 x 267)

Motherboard Name : Intel Montpelier DQ35MP (1 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Video, Gigabit LAN)

(I mean 4gb RAM onboard )

Motherboard Chipset : Intel Bearlake Q35

GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (896 MB


THE PROBLEM :

I've been watching all HD movies i my laptop and now i suddenly discovered something ...

The playback is better in my desktop than my laptop
The monitor is old one LCD - HCL around 7 years back 1024 X 768 Display

I feel the REAL, CRISP playback in my Desktop and it is COOL

But in my laptop it is hot , and not nice at all - looks unreal
Even artifacts ...

What is the problem ??
How to i calibrate the settings ??
Help me !!!!

1.Try a different video.
2.Check the settings of MPC or try VLC media player.
3.Check the graphic card settings on your laptop.

Also the graphic card of you laptop won't be as powerful as the one on your desktop and might not allow certain post processing effects to be done. Please tell the configuration of the laptop as well.
