help me install Linux alongwith WinXP Pro

    i have a 20GB HDD with 3 partitions (10,5,5)...... i have installed WinXP Pro on the 10GB partition..... i have one of the 5GB partition free for installing Linux ....... i want to install Red Hat Linux on the 5GB partition ....
    1. Is it possible to install linux in the above said environment??
    2. If it is not possible to install Red Hat which linux can i install ???
    3. I want it for running C++, and Java

    plz HELP

    Yes, it's possible to install Linux in your 5 GB partition.

    use the forums Search, you'll find enough material to help you on it.

    Yes definately.... Hope you know how to partition... if not then let us know...

    If you're not willing to install RedHat on your harddisk, then you can try out Knoppix 3.6 distribution... it was there in last month's Digit DVD...

    Use $ gcc filename.cc for compiling C/C++ programs.
    For Java, there's a gcj package there from GNU's Compiler Collection, but its not that good for hardcore java programming. Get Sun's Java Devl Kit for Linux from this location.
