Help Me Find Why Certain Sites Won't Open

In Windows Vista, I am not able to open the following links:
*myaccount.tataindicombroadband.in/MyAccount/signin.do
*airtel.in

The first is for checking account details and for making payment for TataIndicom internet (which I use).

I already posted this here before, but couldn't arrive at a conclusion.

The links open perfectly in Ubuntu. The problem oocurs only in Vista. I tried with my friends laptop (he also has Vista), there also it won't open. Till last month, I was able to open the link from Windows XP running in VirtualBox. I paid the last month's bill that way. This time, when I tried, the links won't open in Windows XP (VirtualBox) either.

I raised a complete with TataIndicom some time ago, but they said that it was specific to my system. I thought may be they are right, since I had disabled most of the unnecessary Vista services. But now I have confirmed that it is not working in friend's Vista laptop either.

Also, about 3-4 weeks ago, I got an email from TataIndicom saying that internet won't be available for about 2-3 hours since they are doing some work on the network. When I checked these links after the connection was restored, they were working. So I thought they finally fixed the issue. But again, it is not working.

As suggested by the customer care executive, I tried ipconfig /flushdns. It didn't help. Please note that it is not browser specific. I tried in Firefox, IE, Opera, Safari & Chrome.

I completely uninstalled Comodo last time. Still the links didn't open. I regularly run CCleaner to remove the temporary files and cache as well.

Uninstall Firefox Completely and get lastest version from here: *www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

*i39.tinypic.com/28we9n6.png

Now install add-on: *addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59

To change User Agent to Opera,IE or Firefox..... Tools>> User Agent Switcher>>> Select preffered Browser

- This may work :)

Thanks very much for trying to help me.
Atleast give a try what I have written :)
Sorry that I didn't mention it. I installed the addon at the time of posting my previous reply itself. But it gives only 3 options (IE7 Vista, Netscape 4.8 vista & Opera 9.25 Vista). I tried the IE7 Vista option, sadly didn't work. Will it be possible to have IE7 XP option?

I am going to try OpenDNS now.

Try these DNS servers, they are better than OpenDNS IMO...

Primary: 4.2.2.2
Secondary: 4.2.2.1

I tried both OpenDNS and 4.2.2.2/1. Still not working. :(

When I try to ping airtel.in, I get "Request Timed Out" after the message "Pinging airtel.in [125.19.17.20] with 32 bytes of data:". Since it is able to get the ip (125.19.17.20, which I assume as airtel.in), I think the problem is not with DNS.

I think some software is blocking your site navigation. for safety measure Have a scan with: *www.superantispyware.com/download.html Go for a full scan with updated definitions

Seems something is fishy at your end only

Did full system scan with SuperAntiSpyware. It didn't find anything.

I activated AirTel Mobile Office and connected to internet through it. Then also, the same thing. These sites won't load.

Then I did a trace route for www.google.com and www.airtel.in. Given below are the results:

Here also, it stops at 203.101.100.182.

When I tried through Tor, both the links are working.

One more thing which I forgot to mention is that my roommate also has the same problem. He also has Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Another common factor between us is that both of us have HP laptops.

Finally decided to reinstall Vista. Did a factory restore, and the problem is gone. Don't really know what happened.

Tracert airtel.in still stops at 203.101.100.182. So, the problem was something else.
