Hi guys

I need help in choosing the best from the following AM2
based motherboards within budget 4000. I am looking for reliability
and performance. If u have other boards in mind within the same
budget please suggest me as well.

Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G
Asus M2N-MX
MSI K9NGM

As for cpu i'll be going for the AMD X2 3600+. Also i saw in a thread
in this forum

I think they're all based on the same chipset. Go for the cheapest one. If price is nearly the same then Asus > MSI > Gigabyte.

I don't know about dual channel support in Corsair Value select chips, but for a general purpose rig, go for Transcend RAM. It's cheaper and you're guaranteed dual channel support.

You have understood it out of context.
It is a fact that certain Mobos dont support cerain brands of Ram. But what I was saying was that even though the Asus Mobo manual says A8N-E does'nt support Corsair Value select in Dual Channel, it actually does. (may be because the Corsair which I bought has Samsung chips and the earlier ones might have been using some other chips)
Earlier, I was using lower capacity Transcend with the board that also without any problem.
I think the compatibility problem was there mostly with NForce 4 chipsets.
