HELP-Gaming via LAN

HEy guys, PlZ HELP Fast

I have to connect my comp with a neighbour's comp. to play multiplayer FPS games like vietcong. How do i connect via lan??what do I need?
what should i buy???which is the cheapest OPTION--what prices??
budget is limited to 1500Rs. I have winxp.

is he your next door neighbour?

anyways if he is pretty close to you, you need:

a LAN port on each computer. if either of you dont have (or both!) then you must buy LAN cards and plug it in your mainboards. max cost. 400 rs(200 each card)

LAN cable to connect the comps( max 25 rs)

a little brainwork to set up LAN connection( actually none....its simple on windows)

the joy of playing the game- priceless

there are somethings money cant buy ..... for every thing else ................ah forget it!

By connecting to a neighbours pc what distance are we talking about?
Which Operating systems have we got in there?Accordingly I can refer you to some stuff that may help you get your network going,though the process is much the same in many cases.

Neighbour is pretty close.winxps.we both have lan ports but seriously only rs.25 for lan cable.WOW!
