Haswell Stock cooler good enough?

Guyz I have finalized a rig with an i5 4690k. I am not going to do any heavy work except gaming like BF4, FC4, SoM,COD-AW,etc. I wanted to buy a cooler master hyper212x cooler but decided to skip it for a month because the rig price is off-shooting my budget by about 8k. So I wanted to ask if Stock cooler could work nice enough for heavy gaming. No Overclocking at all.

it will do but do keep a check on the temperature during gaming and if possible add a cooler at a later stage.

I don't think so.

This is what I get on 94% load - with hyper-threading disabled.

Although mine is an i7 @4Ghz, it shouldn't be much different for you too with your i5.

Same case here with i7 4790K at stock speed (4Ghz).
At around 50% load, CPU temp tops 93 degrees.
idle temp is around 35

Does that mean i5 would run hotter or cooler under similar loads compared to your procy? I would be playing Intensive games for 4-5 hours at 20 deg C room temp.

I5 would have the same temperature..... Playing games is OK without a cooler as long as u don't over clock

If we take the 0.5Ghz difference, it will not be much different. Give or take a few degrees.

Intensive gaming will definitely put load on your CPU and a constantly hot running CPU means low life expectancy.

If you have the money, get an Corsair H80i or get a decent air cooler. Cooler Master Hyper 212X preferred and an extra fan.
