Dude, come on. Releases 4 days early if everyone pre-orders. Is like they are withholding the release on purpose.

Donno, we will have to see then, but Square Enix still offers some of the best gaming experiences
not so much Deus Ex lately, but still this is not too bad... it is not a blatant scam at least, don't see it that way, much better than what some other publishers do
all these kinds of transactions and method of making money is new to both the developers and the gamers, so everyone is still figuring it out to find out what works and what does not. This seems like a good mix.

There is no guarantee that the developers have even finished working on the game. If they do release it 4 days early, then there are chances that it won't be tested properly and buggy. And you have just spent close to $30-40 on a broken mess.

Trust me, Square Enix are as evil as they come.

Why do people preorder anyway ? What if they dont like the game ? :| Its not like the game will go away or anything after release.. The DLC and stuff are always negligible

Yes. This could potentially be the worst Deus Ex ever, who knows. But you will have already committed to it since you have already pre-ordered. But even if the game is good, the fanfare about pre-ordering it is a turn off and the rewards are pretty meh.

Also, according to PC gamer:

The only way Square could reasonably guarantee an early release date is if the date it announced is intentionally pushed back from the actual ready-to-go date. The "you won't get this content if you don't preorder" threat (which, let's face it, is what this is) rings hollow too, since all this bonus stuff is already guaranteed for the retail collector's edition, which "will include all the in-game content and rewards from Augment Your Pre-order."

Back to school!!
I don't see anyone complaining about Kickstarters, then they don't have the right to complain about this. This is the exact model followed by kickstarters, with the assurance of getting the product at least.

^yes exactly

stopped caring. to play the games you have to go through all sorts of tomfoolery, at times it's worth it despite all that, and at times it is not.
one of my favorite series, borderlands, is heavily flawed in this aspect. to get everything in Borderlands 2, you have to buy poker night 2

Or buy the game and then pirate the dlcs that you can't even buy.

well pirating the DLCs wont work on steam, atleast not on borderlands..
For single player games, it might work

*Food for thought*
