Hard Drive not able to install OS

OK...here is the thing. I got my new HDD and I installed the OS on that and now I can confirm that the drive which was not working is actually faulty. When I connect that faulty drive then I am not able to get in the OS.

I hope you are returning it or going for a RMA.. All the best anyways..

Right now I am recovering the data from that drive and will try all the things I can to recover the data completely. When I am sure that I can't recover more data then I'll send it for RMA.

BTW Do I have to pack the HDD to give to the courier guy or just giving him plain HDD would do the job ??

You better pack it well and make sure the edges of the HDD are protected well from any dents or damages.

The last thing you might want to hear is the manufacturer rejecting the warranty claim as the disk was physically damaged in transit.
