Half Life 2 Episode 2 prob....HELP!!!

When i run the game after the installation, the game closes automatically and tells that directX 8 must be installed....but i've got DX9.0c already installed on my pc and recently completed the episode one on the same machine....can anyone tell me how to run the game.....?

It seems problem in your windows. to check it, install a fresh copy of xp in other drive. install latest drivers and dx. now install ep2 and run. it should work.

oh HELL!...Im using Geforce MX 4000....****.....is there any way to run the game???????
