GTA 4 not working on windows 8

My gta 4 is not working on my pc is there is any patch for Windows 8 support by the Rockstar.
Help me guys.

When I run the game it shows till the play button and when I click on the play it says contact manufacturer or re install the game and then I got the msg saying that this is not compatible check online. Don't know what to do now.

try to re-install the game or install the latest 1.0.0.7 patch.
or set the compatibility to win xp or win 7 & then relaunch the game.

seems its games for windows live problem with GTA IV

Go to program compatiblity options by right clicking on the game icon and run program compatiblity wizard
or
go to properties and set yourself the compatblity for windows 7

do this along with making the program run as administrator

Already done that not working. Since mine is not steam version looks like I should re install the game.

yes, seems to be a GFWL issue..... the servers were closed sometime in august y microsoft.
LA Noire also stopped working for me .
