graphics problem

i have AMD Athlon 2400+ ,MSI motherboard with via KM400 chipset,512 Mb ddr(400 Mhz) ram.i m using Win XP sp2. My problem is when i using multitasking my pc gets hang and after few second it gives error message that my graphic drivers gets out ,u need to restart the computer.I dont know the exact error specification.It happens quite regularly. please help........

first check ur directx
go to run and type dxdiag

and go by the prob if shown any

and update ur graphic driver alsoo

I was facing the same problems but when i flashed my BIOS and started using a new drivers for chipset and graphics it got corrected

Instead of flashing u'r BIOS first, try updating u'r system & graphics drivers.
If those don't work, then look for u'r motherboard & graphics card BIOS updates on the manufacturer's site.
And yes, graphics card BIOS can be updated.
