Graphic Card Upgradation?

Hello Thinkdigit guys,
I have a decent computer. I have now started some hard-core gaming and i need to ask you guys what all components should i upgrade or modify them so i can play games like Dishonored and Skyrim on my PC.

Here are my Current Specs of my modified Dell Inspiron 580's
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel Core i3 CPU 550@3.20GHz
4.00GB(3.87 GB usable) RAM
DirectX 11
nVIDIA GeForce 310
500GB Internal HDD and 1.5TB External HDD

I guess i should upgrade my graphic card but that would cost around 2-3k, any cheaper method?I read about overclocking but i didn't understand it. If there's no other way i will just buy a new gaphic card. Also tell me what other things i need to upgrade/replace.
Thank You

3. Which resolution will you game at?

4. What are your current computer specifications?

Intel Core i3 CPU 550@3.20GHz

Overclocking is increasing the clock rate of your component beyond the stock settings...
Even if you overclock you will not get much more performance as your GPU is very weak.. it was not meant for gaming...

I recommend you buy a new Graphics card, but first you will have to check your power supply..
To start with, look at the Radeon 7750 which will cost 7k...

A CPU upgrade would'nt hurt, but then it will be better if you buy a new PC..

Like Techguy said, GT 310 is rubbish. No point of overclocking it.

Look for a new graphic card and power supply if you want to game.

CPU is okay.
