graphic card for my mother board? {CHEAP}

CD ROM DRIVE

and i want to buy a cheap graphic card.i dont want extreme graphics but card should not show black screen or weired graphics. i want to play GTA san andreas and NFS carbon like games.[GTA san andreas actually].suggest a cheap card for my mother board.

don't get confused between PCIe version and AGP version.


seriously, for gaming your processor will be a serious bottleneck.

I have HD2600XT PCIe version. Bought the 512MB GDDR3 versoin for 6k few months ago.

A good 8600GT beats this card in many games.

Not sure where it is available mate.

how does ur card performs ?? what game do u play and what kind of FPS do u get ??

and ur mobo supports only AGP slot ...and the card u are selecting is not good enough for the games u are telling ....getting a cheap AGP card is very hard these days u will have to look at the option of AGP a second hand...may be ..

I was able to play crysis at med settings at 1280x800 resolution though the game loading time is a little bit annoying but no freezes in gameplay.

I am able to play all the latest games without any hiccup at 1440x900.

Sometimes, I feel that it can outperform 8600GT. But I have not used 8600GT and I leave that comparison to forums

btw, got 6k 3DMark03 score with this card in Vista.

Will give you 3D Mark Vantage and 3D Mark 06 results soon.

3DMark Vantage:

GPU score 1199
CPU Score 1552

reso: 1440x900

3DMark 06:

Score: 3789 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score : 1600
SM 3.0 Score: 1975
CPU score: 815

After overclocking little, got this:

Score: 4102 3DMarks
SM 2.0 score: 1759
SM 3.0 Score: 2718
CPU score: 844

wow its very decent performer in that price range looking at ur results i feel its better than 8600 GT ...but i guess 8600GT was more readily available ...but haven't seen this card being available so easily in india...

i guess its serving u well

yep. I have played all the NFS games on this card, FEAR, Far Cry, GRID, Dirt with full eye candy on

played COD4, Crysis at medium settings.

But I do have this feeling that 8600GT may be better since it costs 2.6k now.

Also check 4600 series from AMD.

well offcourse now 8600gt is going cheaper ..thanks to HD4850 simply changed every market equation out there

AFAIK HD4670 is not yet available should be available by the end of this month ...
