Democracy is a myth
Guys, right now I'm using a 8800GT of NVIDIA.
Now, I'm upgrading my card to MSI HD 7770 which is from ATI.

My question might sound n00bish but I had to ask.

Do I need to remove all NVIDIA related drivers prior installing the card?
What if I do not remove the NVIDIA drivers and install ATI drivers...would it work?
Could I face any complication if I remove NVIDIA drivers (I'm scared as I once uninstalled my sound drivers and had to format OS to get them back. No new driver installation worked)

Thanks...

1.) Uninstall nvidia drivers
2.) Use "Driversweeper" to remove all nvidia-display related files)
3.) Restart
4.) Install ATI Catalyst drivers.

There won't be any problems.

And yeah, do NOT install ati drivers without uninstalling nvidia drivers.
There are no complications on removing the nvidia drivers. You won't be needing them anymore.

before installing a new gfx card ( from different series ) it's recommended to uninstall previous gfx card drivers completely but I've used nvidia gfx card without uninstalling AMD gfx card driver - this will throw up a error like no AMD gfx card installed after the desktop loads but games and every other apps worked fine and same goes true for AMD gfx card and nvidia driver - but as I said it's always recommended to uninstall previous gfx card drivers so you better do that and don't be scared everything will be just fine.

Put in the new card, reach the desktop. You might see a weird resolution. Unmound green, put on red. Done.

From personal experience:
1. Uninstall nvidia driver.
2. reboot.
3. shut down the PC
4. remove nvidia card.
5. insert amd card
6. install amd driver
7. reboot.
You are done.
