got a new graphics card

plz advise me what to do next as i have purchased-"GEFORCE 8400 GS XFX" and have 1GB DDR 800 RAM, what kind of upgrade should i go for in the RAM and how good is my graphics card?? Any reply would be welcome

well with this card u can play old games @ nice settings but i 4 new ones it will lag
some settings & fps

Go 4 2GB DDR RAM upgrade...

What do you mean ? Install the XFX card in your mobo. Naturally !!
Since you have 1GB if you want to use Vista then upgrade to 2GB RAM.
Your card is average.........so what.........you can play some games atleast.

st Update download updated drivers for your gfx card
Go for another 1GB 800 MHz ram module for dual channel config & run Vista ( applies for any kind of memory hogging apps also. ) smoothly.

Thanks a lot for the help, but I forgot to mention that I have 1GB DDR2 RAM (if that makes it marginally better or not)………and more so that I am quite a comp illiterate (however much I like to admit it!!)…………if ne1 lives in Delhi cud u plz tell me how much would an addition to my RAM cost from Nehru Place or some cheap place like that..
