Hey guys, I wanna buy a good (gaming) laptop with at least 4GB RAM.

Please suggest some brands and models. Nothing on the too-high end. Moderately priced.

Does the Dell Inspirion come with 4GB RAM; can I custom order one with 4GB?

if the budget is ur main point, then i think as of now, u can opt for an ACER i think the model is ACER 5740 or 5745G....but yes, its build quality is really poor dude.. be aware of that... :)

If your budget is strictly 40k, and you don't want to go with Acer, then please have a look at these: Inspiron M501R Laptop Details | Dell India

The performance of the new AMD Phenom II N930 is somewhere between that of a Core i5-520M and Core i5-540M. :)

Ashu - I am also planning to buy either of above quoted HP or above quoted ACER (5740). Could you please tell your source of info about bad quality of ACER laptop - these models in particular? As I have read - these are not so badly built, in face people are liking them on built front too. I know in past ACER's reputation in build quality is not so good - but is it still the same or they have improved a lot?

It would be great if you could tell your source of info or if you or some friend has personal experience about build quality of these models.

thanks again for your help.

Thanks,
Rohit

yup, definately, i will be happy to shed sum light on this query of urs.. :)

i personally went to Croma stores across mumbai city as well as many Vijay Sales stores to see the build quality of Acer...

with my own personal experience (with absolutely NO offence meant) , i didnt find the body too durable, it was like a plasticky feel to it wen i held the lappy in my hands...

it wud squeak alil' bit and was not good.. :( say for eg: wen accidently i held it tightly (like we wud normally hold while carrying a lappy in our hands, side ways) it squeaks abit b/w the fingers and the palm of ur hands.... :)
