getting the asus g73jh

after a lot of research i have decided to get the asus g73jh ( thanks to d3p for all the help, youre the best bro )

This is the config :

1. i7 720qm
2. hd 5870 1gb
3. 500gb x 2 raid hdd
4. 1600x900 screen ( 17.3" )
5. 8 cell battery
6. 8gb ram
7. windows 7 home premium

i can upgrade the ram to 16gb, and change both the hdd to ssd or 1 hdd and 1 ssd. (later)


and the cherry on top is that i get asus india warranty. no hassles

i have made up my mind on getting this, if anyone here has some suggestions to make about any other models which match these specs please suggest.

This laptop is costing me close to 900 $

Its better to get Y500 from US, better performance..... GT750M > GT650M> GT740M > HD5870M

you dont get warranty for y400 series in india. hd 5870m ~ gtx 660m > gt 740m and im not getting my laptop from usa.

i dont think thats the gddr5 version.

max rate gt 650m : 80gb /s ( gddr5 version )

max rate hd 5870 : 64gb/s ( i can oc my gpu in the laptop )

max rate gtx 660m : 64gb /s

If u r getting it from India, then get Samsung NP550P5C S05IN. It should cost 57-59k locally.....

Else wait for companoes to refresh their line up with 4th gen processors..... Price of 3rd gen processors will also come down at that time

First gen processors heated up quite a lot. Apart from it, 17" will be too heavy, but never mind if you can manage it, but do think about the prior.

y dont u buy g46vw from asus.. if u can increase ur budget to 1150$, then buy using global easy buy in ebay..

its gddr3 gpu. Bandwidth is half of gtx 660m and hd 5870.
