How can i retrieve the Windows XP's administrator's password while i hv logged in from the limited user's account or even from the administrator's account??

I dont Know! but....... u can change the administrators password!!

step:
1) go to control panel
2) click users
3)select administrator right click
4) and set the new password!!!

modified steps
1. right click my computer
2. click on manage
3. go to local users and groups -> users
4. right click administrator account -> set password

if your restricted account doesnot allow you to open management console then go here

but well well well ... i think i got it all wrong .. u just want to know the existing password

no u cant ......
if admin account already has a password ... then u cant login without passw in safemode
not even in recovery console

YES alib_i is correct u cant login without password in safemode, and in the recovery console if u have alread set an admin password.

there is no way to retrieve it unless u have it stored in a floppy.
perhaps u should do as xenkatesh said

there used to be a software called 10pht
it was available at www.atstake.com
but now it has disappeared somehow ..
it was able to retrieve passwords from the SAM file winxp
