1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:Games like Farcry 3, Black Ops II, Applications like Adobe Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6, Lightroom 4. In a nutshell, I will try to play any new FPS games + Adobe Softwares mainly.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:50K. Max 60K.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:Yes

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Windows 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:I already have a 1TB HDD.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:Yes, 22 or 24 inch with 1920x1080 px resolution.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:HDD and I have one 4GB RAM ( 1333 MHz ). But I doubt this RAM is sufficient for my new rig ( brand name is Dyna :-().

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:Within 2 months.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:No, but I am confident of building one. However, I don't want to risk my new hardwares so I will be looking for an assembler:|.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Bangalore. Yes, I will be buying from SP Road or any other shops in Bangalore. If the parts are not available, I will go for online shops.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I would like to go for an Intel CPU + Nvidia GPU. However, if I can benefit from a AMD CPU and GPU( in terms of more processing power and less price), I will go for it.

Panwala95, the config looks good to me but with that OP can't overclock. I5 3470 comes with locked Multiplier. I will suggest the following changes:-

1. Get Dell ST2240L (9.1K) or BenQ GW2250HM (8.7K) 22" Full HD Display. The former is based on IPS panel and the later is based on VA panel and both offers superior image quality and Viewing angle over the conventional TN panel display available at the same price point. With the rest of the money, opt for Sapphire HD 7870 2GB @ (16.7K, Kolkata Price). HD 7870 performs superior to GTX 660 and in Kolkata you can get it at the cheapest price.

Regarding shipping, we have Vedant Computer who offers shipping to different locations in India but you need to place the order through Phone. A lot of members here have already made their purchase from that shop.

If you want to overclock then, you need to opt for an AMD FX based system as Intel based overclockable system will overshoot your budget.

Nice Config
But a few suggestions:
Make Ram 2 x 4Gb
Also if going for Gtx 660 go for gigabyte one for 14500 available in Nehru Place
Because for 16500 you can get Sapphire 7870 which performs slightly better
Instead of i5 3450 you can go for i5 3570 for 12000.

Thank you all for your valuable suggestions.

If I go for an AMD FX processor, please suggest a good motherboard for FX as well. GPU HD 7870 2GB @ 16.7K:-(. My plan was to put some 12 K for the GPU. But if I get the whole rig @ 50K i am fine with HD 7870. Nzxt source elite 210 is looking good and cheap also but any idea how many fans are there? I was looking for Corsair 550R which comes with 3 fans ( ? ) and avoid an additional cooling system.

If you're willing to spend 12K for GPU, then Gigabyte HD 7850 1 GB version @ 12.7K (smc) is the best choice.

Before going for an AMD FX based solution, let me clear couple of things. If you consider pure gaming performance at stock speed between i5 3470 and FX-8350 (the Flagship Processor From AMD) then i5 3470 will be little bit higher. Also Intel has lower power consumption benefit over AMD. But at Full HD (1920X1080 or 1920X1200) or higher resolution, GPU matters more and there is no practical difference of Game Play experience between these two Processors. The benefit for the FX processors are like you can overclock it to a great degree (obviously at the cost of higher power consumption) and in Multi-threaded applications (Photoshop is one of them) like Image Editing, Video Encoding etc, it performs very well, sometimes suppressing Intel Core i5 3570K.

Here is the AMD CPU + Motherboard Combination for you:-
AMD FX 8350 (8 Core, 4 GHz, 4.2GHz Turbo, 8 MB L2 + 8 MB L3) @ 12.3K (SMCinternational)
Asus M5A97 Motherboard @ 6.6K
Sapphire HD 7870 2GB GDDR5 Dual Fan version @ 16.7K (Vedant Computer, Kolkata) or Gigabyte HD 7850 1GB GDDR5 @ 12.7K (SMC)

If we take Rs 60K as the upper limit, lets see what can be done.

Intel alternative.

Intel Core i5 3570K - Rs 13700
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H- Rs 12075
Gskill 4GB RAM F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL- Rs 1650
GPU - MSI HD 7850/GTX660 - Rs 12700/14928
PSU - Corsair TX650V2UK - Rs 5300
Cabinet - NZXT Source 210 Elite - Rs 2900
OPD - Samsung SH-S 223F - Rs 975
Monitor - Dell ST2240L (21.5 inch LED Full HD 1920 x 1080) - Rs 9000
Mouse Logitech G400 - Rs 1500
Keyboard - Logitech - Rs 450

Total - Rs 60,250/62,488 (GTX 660)

Since you will be overclocking your system stick to TX series power supply from Corsair.More over add Rs 2200 for COOLER MASTER CPU COOLER HYPER 212 EVO. A quality Intel overclockable rig comes at a price!

Now the same rig with a

AMD FX 8350 - Rs 12300
Asus M5A97- Rs 6500
Gskill 4GB RAM F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL- Rs 1650
GPU - Sapphire HD 7950/GTX 660Ti - Rs 21700/ 19300
PSU - Corsair TX650V2UK - Rs 5300
Cabinet - NZXT Source 210 Elite - Rs 2900
OPD - Samsung SH-S 223F - Rs 975
Monitor - Dell ST2240L (21.5 inch LED Full HD 1920 x 1080) - Rs 9000
Mouse Logitech G400 - Rs 1500
Keyboard - Logitech - Rs 450

Total - Rs 62,275/59,875.

edit : ADD the Hyper 212 here too ,,,Rs 2200

So in sheer performance and value the AMD rig is better my miles at "your" specified budget.

The amd config has the best combo of processing and graphics power.

The amd's have better cpu cooler than intel, but a better cooler is not required for OCing ?

Q: Where can i get the tx650v2 @ 5.3k in kolkata ? Vedant ?

Yes ofcourse we need a better cooler for OC. I missed it. Now added.

Vedant & Velocity you can get it at that price . Other wise the TX 650 retails for Rs 5600/5500 and not more than that in Kolkata.

There are 3 tx650s: tx650, tx650m and tx650v2.
I assume the first one is the older version (mdcomp seems to list one in their site) and you are talking about about the v2 ^

The old TX (CWT) is EOL so you dont get them anymore. The new TX650V2 (Seasonic) is what Im talking about ,you are right. The one listed @MD Comp is the V2 (Seasonic),check the packaging.

The stock CPU Cooler that comes with FX-8350 is of very good quality. It comes with 4 Copper Cooler with a solid Copper base. You can run the CPU @ 4.2 to 4.3 GHz stable with the cooler if you create a proper fan Speed Profile. Right now I am converting a video using Handbrake @ 4.2 GHz Speed with all the 8 cores @ 100% load. Temperature is 60 degree Celsius at max.
