Gaming PC with 50K budget or PS4 at 27K or wait?

I'll like to mention that I have two laptops already for regular work which are enough for my general usage needs.

1) Dell Studio 1555 2008 edition with 4 GB Ram, Radeon 4570 onboard graphics, Core 2 duo. Without Battery, Screen and keyboard. Hooked up to a dell 21.5 Inch 1080P monitor with a USB Mouse and keyboard and used as a desktop replacement.
2) HP Laptop with I3 processor and 2 Gb Ram and onboard graphics.

But they are too outdated to play games from last 5 years.

Now, I want a device to play games from last 5 years and also be future proof for at least 2-3 years(1080p gaming on dell 21.5 inch screen).

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans: I'll like the PC to play the top AAA titles of the past 5 years like the Witcher 3 , GTA 5 , Fallout 4, Resident Evil 7 and also be future proof enough to play latest games at 1080p resolution for at least 2 more years.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50K +- 5K

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1 TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: 21.5 Inch 1080 P dell monitor already available

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Already have Keyboard and Mouse

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Whenever the time is best.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I have built one before but may use assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Online or Delhi Nehru place.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

I found a PS4 on flipkart for around 27K. But I am worried about the price of the games long term( I already own a PC game collection) and the PC games are cheaper. Also I will not be able to do anything else except gaming on a PS4 and my two laptops will start gathering dust.

Or Is it possible to anyhow upgrade any of the laptops with egpu to atleast play these games? Or should i just wait till end of life of these laptops(while playing old games from 2009) and wait for prices of RAM/ Graphics Card / PS4 / Games etc to fall?

The prices look terrible. My 2008 Dell Studio 1555 has 4 GB RAM and 1 TB HDD. And I got it for 60K in 2008. Seems like we lost a whole generation of improvement due to rupee crash and other global factors. Very disappointed. Why aren't there any protests on the streets over this?

What about the PS4? I believe it can run all previous AAA titles and also be future proof for at least 3 years. But , It seems like it is on the fag end of its life cycle now that PS4 Pro has arrived. We might see PS5 in 2-3 years as well as cheaper VR gaming. If i buy a PS4 for 27K today, a much faster PS5 may arrive 2-3 years later at around 42K with improved support for VR gaming in next 5 years or so. Also the games are very expensive and a bundle of 10 fresh upcoming AAA titles may set me back by 25-30K.

So very confused.

Thinking about taking my Old Dell 1555 for service today for Rs 300 and starting to play Fallout 3, DragonAge origins and Batman Arkham Asylum all over again to relive the good old days. I'll keep using it till the Motherboard is fried and the laptop is complete junk, only then, think of a upgrade path.

Consoles are even stupidly overpriced here compared to PC components. Better wait till the prices stabilize and then assemble a desktop.

I do not think the prices are going to stabilize in the near future. Best bet is to keep what I have for as long as it works. Buy only when I really need something. Save 50K in a bank fixed account to get a VR capable PC/Console in the next 3-5 years when the content is cheaper and freely available. This will also save money on a large screen TV. Am I right?

If you are thinking of buying PS4 for Bloodborne then buy it eyes closed, it is worth buying for that game alone otherwise save up and stick to the PC.
