I'll like to mention that I have two laptops already for regular work which are enough for my general usage needs.
1) Dell Studio 1555 2008 edition with 4 GB Ram, Radeon 4570 onboard graphics, Core 2 duo. Without Battery, Screen and keyboard. Hooked up to a dell 21.5 Inch 1080P monitor with a USB Mouse and keyboard and used as a desktop replacement.
2) HP Laptop with I3 processor and 2 Gb Ram and onboard graphics.
But they are too outdated to play games from last 5 years.
Now, I want a device to play games from last 5 years and also be future proof for at least 2-3 years(1080p gaming on dell 21.5 inch screen).
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: I'll like the PC to play the top AAA titles of the past 5 years like the Witcher 3 , GTA 5 , Fallout 4, Resident Evil 7 and also be future proof enough to play latest games at 1080p resolution for at least 2 more years.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50K +- 5K
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1 TB
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: 21.5 Inch 1080 P dell monitor already available
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Already have Keyboard and Mouse
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Whenever the time is best.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I have built one before but may use assembler.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Online or Delhi Nehru place.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
I found a PS4 on flipkart for around 27K. But I am worried about the price of the games long term( I already own a PC game collection) and the PC games are cheaper. Also I will not be able to do anything else except gaming on a PS4 and my two laptops will start gathering dust.
Or Is it possible to anyhow upgrade any of the laptops with egpu to atleast play these games? Or should i just wait till end of life of these laptops(while playing old games from 2009) and wait for prices of RAM/ Graphics Card / PS4 / Games etc to fall?
