1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming and usual programming (no high end graphics design stuff)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 65k. Can stretch till 70k.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: GPU and CPU both. But not immediately. I'll use the overclocking tools provided by AMD for the GPU.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Ubuntu and Win 7 (registered).

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 64 GB (OS) and 1TB for other stuff.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. 21.5 inch or more and should be high res with HDMI option.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: None. Am setting up a new one. So will buy all.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: February 2014 1st week.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes. But this time going with assembler with personal monitoring.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Mumbai. Buying locally from Lamington Street. Have enquired PrimeABGB but their price is high.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
Below mentioned is my gaming RIG config. However I'm not sure about the prices and few components (mentioned with a '/'). I intend to configure this machine from Mumbai (Lamington Street). Any help in the preferred dealer would be most welcome. I don;t have a very good idea on it's prices.
PC Configuration:
-----------------
1. AMD FX-8350 8 Core 4.0-4.2 Ghz Processor/Intel core i5 4670-3.4Ghz
2. Asus M5A97 LE R2 Motherboard AMD 970 Chipset/Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H Motherboard Socket 1150
3. SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 OC WITH BOOST/Zotac Geforce GTX680 2GB DDR5 NVidia
4. Kingston HyperX 8GB KHX1600C10D3B1/8G DDR3 RAM
5. Corsair CMPSU VS650 Power Supply
6. ADATA Premier 64GB Pro SP600 SSD (For OS)
7. Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EZRX 1 TB Hard Disk (Everything other than OS)
8. Benq 21.5 inch GW2255HM LED Monitor
9. Antec X1 Gaming Cabinet front red LED
10. Antec AIR COOLER SERIES A40 CPU Cooler (Aftermarket cooler if I go with the AMD processor)
11. LG GH24NS95 DVD Burner Internal Optical Drive OEM
12. Logitech MK100 PS2/USB Keyboard and Mouse Combo

Other than this I'll probably go for a speaker (decent one) and throw in couple of LED 120mm fans. However I've a budget constraint of 65k. I can probably stretch 5k more at the max. But the prices I got from online retailers (e.g flipkart) appears too high. Please let me know the prices of these components (from SI#1 to SI#8. Rest of the components are not too costly to make a difference.)

r9 270x on a 70k rig?
go with r9 280x ,nothing less nothing more.
and dont go with wd green, even if it is for only os,get wd blue for a little more

Heres the rig i suggest:

AMD FX-8350 @ 12.5K
Asus M5A97 R2.0 @ 6.5K
Total= 19k
or

i5 4440 3.1 GHz - 12.7k
Gygabyte B85 - 6.5k
Total=19.2k

Rest:
Kingston HyperX Blue 4GB X 1 1600 MHz CL9 Ram @ 2.4K
WD Caviar Blue 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gbps @ 4K
Asus R9 280x Direct CUII 3GB - 26000
Asus 24X SATA DVD R/W @ 1K
Seasonic S12II 520 @ 4.2K
Logitech MK100 PS2/USB Keyboard and Mouse Combo@0.7k
Corsair 300R - 4850
Dell S2240L - 9200
TOTAL= 51,550

Total Damages:71,000 (approx)

If you want, you can save cash by

1)buying a cheaper cabinet(but dont go for antec x1,get Nzxt Gamma or the merc alpha for around 3k)

2)Drop the idea of a ssd for now, add it later.

3)You can even skip the dvd drive

Things i missed:UPS ,Speakers.

I was actually looking for i54670 and found it at @15700/-. Hence got dissapointed. Also won't RAM below 8GB hamper the game loading time?

But thanks a ton for the help.

I was actually hoping to go with Corsair CMPSU VS650. It's 650 Watt and therefore might support any later additions to the rig later? What is your opinion on this? I checked it's costing around 4100/-. Though I didn't do a thorough inspection, but I did check if it has 2 6-pin connectors required to run HD7870. R9 270x also uses two 6-pin connectors right?

Corsair vs series is not good and not recommended. you should go for seasonic s12 ii 620/520 or antec vp550p.

you'll not notice any pgaming performance difference between i5 4430 and i5 4670. i5 4430 is the most VFM Haswell i5 available.

Stay away from Corsair VS series PSUs; they aren't good. Even if a PSU does not have two 6 pin connectors, you can still power it using a molex to 6 pin adapter which is supplied with almost all graphic cards.

Thanks a lot. Antec VP650P 650w PSU @ 5k is a good option then?

Thanks a lot guys. Got the rig for about 73k. the APC UPS 600W is a no go obviously as it can't take the load. Other than that all is good.
