1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Programming, Simulations, Multitasking, Browsing and GAMING.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: around 50k. But can go max upto 55k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: NO

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Ubuntu. No Windows

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Ok with 786p, but would prefer 900p or 1080p

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: NA

Ans: Immediately or can wait till Jan 2014

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: NA

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Online or locally from Pune (please suggest locations as i'm new here).

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Yes -
Don't want - Touch screen, SSD
Must have - i7, 8GB RAM, Backlit KB
Prefer high end Graphics card like NVIDIA GT 650M.

1. Found "Asus K55VM-SX086D" (3rd Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 1TB/ DOS/ 2GB Graph) to be good one @ 44k from Flipkart, but its Graphics card GT 630M is not so good. (can it be upgraded, i doubt so)

2. Would like to buy "Lenovo Y500" but it too costly, please suggest whether its price will drop till Jan.

3. Also "Samsung NP550P5C-S05IN" (3rd Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 1TB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph) is perfect for me but its 5k more than budget and out of stock now. If its price drops to 55k its best for me.

I would be using this laptop for around 5-6 years, so need to make it future proof.

and Thanks :)

i don't think you will get the configuration you are looking for at that price range, i suggest the Lenovo Ideapad Y500 (3rd Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 1TB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph) if you can extend you budget. For serious gaming laptops look at Alienware Alienware Gaming Computers - Official Site - Alienware India | Dell India they are expensive but worth it!!
