Gamin' on a budget

Hi guys,

Now I have an old workhorse here, with the following config:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
Mobo: Intel DG43NB
RAM: 2GB 800Mhz DDR2 RAM
GPU: XFX Geforce 9500 GT
HDD: 250 GB Hitachi

I wanna upgrade it for gaming, but on a strict budget. I won't overclock, and won't multitask much. My main usage will be gaming. Now which CPU would be better the Intel Core i3 2100 or AMD Phenom II X4 945? Also please suggest a suitable mobo under Rs.4000. Also which graphics card would be better, Geforce GTS 450 or Radeon 6750?

Thanks. :)

And you must mention your total budget.

It is not the best time to go for a whole system upgrade as 19th September AMD is launching their new flagship Bulldozer processors. After the release there is a high chance of change in price (read reduction). So wait a bit.

For now, you just add a good Graphics card like MSI HD 6770 1 GB GDDR5 @ 6.5K. It is better than both GTS 450 and HD 6750. But you didn't mention what SMPS or PSU you're currently having. Local PSU or SMPS like Frontech, Intex can't handle a good graphics card. So if you don't have one, 1st get a good PSU like FSP SAGA II 500W @ 2.2K or Corsair CX430 V2 @ 2.3K.
