Games installation problem

whenever i install any game, just after selecting my directory for installation, the installation process takes 10 to 15 mins to start, but once the installation have started it progresses in normal manner without delay.

pls some one help , this problem started 2 weeks back, i am not facing this problem while installing softwares

Try defragmenting ur harddisk and also do a disk check for any errors.

Please use Disk Cleanup and clear your Temp files and try installing

no need to disk cleanup... i thnk..
u shld uncheck "hide protected system folder and files " from "folder options".
then u go into
"<drive>:/System volume information" folder of any drive.
u can find many big data there abt from MB to GBs...

delete all that files..it is for system restore...and ur HDD is clean up..more space...no run the disk cleanup...it will complete fast and ur system will be some speedy...


remove all files from "<drive>:/windows/prefetch" folder...

remove all files from "temp" from "windows" and from "documents and settings/<username>/" folders..

remove from recent also...

enough..

i tried defragmenting and disk cleanup but didnt solved my problem

special thanks to parthbarot ,although it didnt solved my problem but i recvered 1.7 GB, once again thnx a lot.

it can also be game's problem like cd is not working fine

it strange...........no problem while installing s/w, just games..............its almost like some AI in ur system is detecting that ur trying to install a game & bugging u by making it slow..............:O


Installtion takes 10-15 mins to start...........i dont think it has anything to do with ur HDD being fragmented or dirty.......

Try n upgrade ur Windows Installer........i guess that shud solve the problem.........or at least thats what the problem is........

hi maverickrohan , yes i agree with u that this is not related 2 fragmented HDD and also there is no problem of dirty or damaged cd bcause had it been so, my games wouldnt have installed in first place, my problem is that games r being installed correctly and properly but they take 10-15 mins 2 start

why dont u copy all the files on the cd to ur hdd, and then try to install ....

then u will get to know whether it is a cd relate issue or a problem with windows ....

i've already tried ur method champ_rock thats y i am so sure that it is not a cd related issue.
