What is your budget for ssd? For your usage, nvme ssd would be wasted. Get a sata 250 GB MX500. Buying sata m.2 drive would be of no benefit for you.

Check your thread. Install windows on it just like you would on any other hard drive.

Install windows 10 into the SSD by puting it as the primary drive. Congrats on your build.

Should've bought MX500 instead. SU650 is a bad option for new builds.

No practical difference for someone coming from a hdd. Only when one use a fast ssd with not so typical tasks,the difference becomes noticeable enough.

There are 2 m2 slots in that mobo,you have to install m2 sata ssd(which su650 is) in m2_2 slot(the one at the corner) & not m2_1 slot(the one above the pcie slot) which is for m2 nvme ssd.

1st one is for nvme drives, 2nd for sata and nvme.

sata ssd 2.5" that looks like portable hdd/laptop hdd--connects to sata port on mobo just like hdd.
m2 sata ssd fits in m2 slot that supports m2 sata ssd.It also performs just like above sata 2.5" ssd.
m2 nvme ssd fits in m2 slot that supports m2 nvme ssd.It is the fastest ssd type currently.
All mobos having more than 1 m2 slot have one slot supporting nvme & other slot supporting m2 sata ssd.For details check mobo specifications on manufacturer's website.
