A Pentium 4 2.4 GHz is up for sale. Reason for sale: my mobo failed.

I think this processor is the(a ?) model before Northwood.

But mobos for this thing are rather expensive and poor in performance. You are better off buying a 1.5k mobo with some cheap(by todays standards) chipset and a sempron.

go for this if and only if you already have an old and compatible mobo whose life you are trying to extend, or if you can arrange a second hand mobo for this under 1k.

@diffuser: how old is this processor ? and which core is it ?

Errm...not sure...it was the one that came before the 2.8 GHz HT processors...It is about 4 years old...
