I purchased this for my friend on 26th Mar 2008. But due to some problem with his motherboard (ASUS K8N-E), whenever he connects the writer, the PC won't boot up, just restarts midway through POST.
Then I tested it on two more PCs, where it worked perfectly. So the problem is with the motherboard and not with writer itself. But my friend is not ready to repair his mobo as everything else is working properly (and warranty expired too). He told me to sell this and get a IDE writer for him.
I have original bill with 1 year warranty by ASUS, everything in box like original CD, manual.
The drive came with firmware version 1.00 which I updated to latest version, 1.02
Purchased @ Rs. 1650, expecting the same as it is just a week old, and used only 2 times (for testing). Local buyers only.
I will keep the drive for myself if it is not sold quickly rather than lowering the price significantly.
