How to switch off the firewall?

Which firewall?
Right-click on your firewall in the system tray. There should be an option similar in wording to "Shut down/ Turn off protection/Close Firewall."

If it's Windows Firewall, goto start > programs > Accessories > System Tools > Security Center.

Click on the Windows Firewall link at the bottom in the "Manage Security Settings For" section.

Then click Turn off.

But when i click it off, it shows off but not in security center

meaning...pls elaborate pritish !?

c ven u start sec centre, u have a 'manage ur settings for' right ? ven u click fw, u vila agn get the win fw box, which shud show u as fw off.

if u wanna shut down sec centre, open services and disable scurity center' service.

Also you can turn off the Notifications.

To disable Windows Firewall notifications

1.Open Windows Firewall.

2.Click the Exceptions tab, Clear the "Display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program" check box, and click OK.
