Firefox Homepage cant be changed .. ??

I having this unusual problem ..

When I start firefox.. instead of google.co.in

this is opened ..

I cant change it ..

Btw no adware dedected!

Firefox Version: 1.0.7
My Rig: AMD Athlon64 2800+ Asus K8N + 512 MB DDR400
running WinXP SP2 with all updates

Go to Tools then option then in the genarel TAB... set ur home page what u want...

Man that is the first thing to Check
It is www.google.co.in

thats the reason I am more confused..

i use opera but have tried firefox. so, my suggestions may not be very specific, please check if applicable...

1. In firefox, u have a configuration command that u can type and access - supposed to be very detail. Check it out and search for any references to that webpage.
2. Is it possible u have the page bookmarked and set the homepage to use bookmark?
3. Try calling the firefox browser from the Start->Run command and include "*google.co.in" as the url (prob. will be like
"C:\Program Files\Firefox\firefox.exe" "*google.co.in") and see if u can get the correct result. If u can, set this as ur shortcut command...
4. Open regedit and scan for the website url.

what is ur FF version..?? make sure u have the most updated version...

clear ur cookies... & the cache....

hope that u have scaned ur PC with a good Antivirus scanner (KAV or NAV)... & with a good Antispyware...

might have to think of posting ur Hijackthis log file...

One layman solution is .. Reinstall

and

Otherone is Delete the profile in
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

This will Solve the problem

BUT I WANT TO KNOW FROM YOU GEEKS ..

I have the latest version.. 1.0.7, everthing is upto date
no virus dedtected by anti-virus, and no-adware dedected by Ad-ware remover

As far as I can think, a malware has been installed into your system, using the `pop-under' method. Firefox is very good in stopping pop-ups, but it just cannot stop every popup. If you had `spywareblaster' (freeware) in your system along with `spybot search & destroy') they might have blocked the flaws of the browser

but its not enabled right now

Arghhh that should have been enabled. Seems it's too late now.. You gotta go back to re-installing (no big deal).. Export you bookmarks (the main thing) Bookmark>Manage Bookmark then in the new page File>Export

its not a spyware site
there are some good useful system utilities in there

try making blank as your home page .. restart ..
then change homepage to google (or whtever)

i have one quest ..
does this majokgeek page come everytime u want to open google
or it comes only when FF is first opened?

This comes up every time a new window is opened

taskbar of firefox first states searching www.google.co.in .. then it changes to www.majorgeeks.com

So, I press ESC key to stop .. and open my desired page

I think it has made an entry into the registry or profile of firefox
