fedora 7 installation problem ..

hi all
i have fedora 7 DVD with me( received with one magazine) i used it to install it on my old PC with intel 2.4 Ghz pro , 845 MOBO 256 MB ram & 40 GB hdd setup went well but it was bit slow so i removed it now i have upgraded my PC with AMD Athlon X2 64-bit pro, jetway mobo, 2GB ram the problem is that i am not able to install it setup stops in between i dont know what the problem is ? is it because 64 bit processor ?? or is there any other problem ?

i am using 64 bit UBUNTU now but i want to install fedora plz help ..

Seems like its some problem with Dual Core CPUs, I did some Google Searching.

This is what I found.

So Try adding maxcpus=0 to Boot Options (in the CD Boot Menu) and see if it works.

hey hi thanx for help but where to make that change for maxcpus=0 i have DVD provided with digit only i couldnt find any file to make changes if you have any idea about file name in which i have to make changes then that would be helpful.

any ways thanx for ur help.

He meant that enter the "maxcpus=0" at the boot command line which appears when you boot the DVD. The place where it asks you to Press Enter to start or enter linux and press enter to begin etc. The first boot screen :)
