Faking a File Size ???????????

I have a file which is abt 249mb . I want to know is there any way for me to fake the file size of the file to say about 700 - 750mb ?? The File is a video file (mpeg) i want to keep the same extension but increase the file size !!

Good question. U can try to reencode the avi to higher bitrates as suggested. It will definetly satisfy ur need. It will work for all media files.
I thought of suggesting u opening the file in binary mode and appending zero bytes. Something like how a download manager allocates files before downloading. And when u want to read back from the file, it'll just work. Else, just open it in binary again and delete all the trailing null bytes. This method will work for all files.

But most ppl, me included, would like to show a smaller file size than what is present. Is there a way to fake it like this?

the better would be to use virtualdub and instead of using compression methods leave it uncompressed or just use any other bogus compression method with high bitrates

Yes method suggested by sbs & siriusb will work.
I have seen a dvd carrying only one movie (2hr) & having its size as 6.7 GB.
