Excel 2000 error plz help

I have installed MS office 2000 with Outlook 2003 But it is giving attached error when opening any excel file "cant find the file /..../... ,make sure that the path nad filename are correct and all reqd lib are available"

But when I open excel and from that I open the file it is opening but not opening by double clicking the file

Also MS Access doesn’t open and automatically Installs Access 2003 from the installation path

Can u plz advice me ?

Hi there,
Try this out . First close all applications that are open and then Go to Start > Run and then type the command

excel /regserver

Reboot your computer and try double clicking the file again and see if ti works.

what exx_2000 command will do is ... it will instruct Excel to rewrite all of its "factory default" info. to the Windows registry and re-establish links among the various components of Excel ...

but i think to use it u need to enter the complete path before /regserver
something like

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe"  /RegServer

change the path according to the installed dir. nd drive ..
