DVD ROM not playing movies

I am a recent user of a laptop and hence a DVD ROM. Does WMP 9 not support the regular DVD Movies. It says that a decoder is not available. How do i rectify this and how can i play movies on my laptop???

Install K-Lite Mega Codec pack in your system.
It can be found in CD of Digit October 2006 issue.
Else download from here. K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.59
This must solve your problem.
