Right off the assembly line
I got a new SAMSUNG DVD-ROM drive
I have a jurassic park DVD and it runs fine .... the current region settins are set to region 1
When i put the digit DVD into the drive it shows nothing .... no disc in the drive
I tried with another DVD of "The Italian Job" which says ALL regions compatible
it didnt read it either ...
sometimes when I play the jurassic park DVD , and put the digit DVD into the drive right after it .. it plays the DVD perfectly fine
I thought the trouble cud be with the DVD region settings, so i installed DVD Ghost 2.0
The ROM worked fine till I restarted the pc , now its giving me the same problem ... ( it runs the jurassic park DVD perfectly everytime )
DVD GHOST is set to run with windows, and has been set to the defualt settings...
CAN ANYONE HELP ???
any troubleshooting tips ????
or is the problem with my DVD ROM ???

get dvd regison free

then u wont have to worry about region at least

r u sure the italian job dvd is the original one ?
a friend had a 5in1 with italian job in it . that was the only one giving him trouble and crashed his player whenever he played . it wasnt an original , so i guess all prints of this version are same everywhere
- try to copy the file to ur hdd and run it
- in device manager , -> primary/sec ide controller , see if u have dma set for dvd .
- see if u have more than one dvd listed .
- try removing dvd from device manager and on restart it will detect it again
- check dvd ide cable and switch it with hdd .
- whats ur smps power wattage ?
