Hi Friends,

My 11 year old P4 machine just died and hence have an opportunity to build new system.
I want to build HTPC, which can be used for casual gaming (which i have not gone from years)

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Word/Excel; Movies (1080p/720p); Manage Large collection of Photos & Videos; Light gaming (I remember quack/NFS/FIFA).

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 25k to 28k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Ubuntu + win 7 (or win 8 maybe in future)

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No. I already have Samsung b2030 (20" LCD 1600 x 900)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Monitor, KB/Mouse (I have Logitech MK330)

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: 3-4 days

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes, I have also upgraded by last system many times

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Hyderabad.
Can somebody suggest good shops in Hyderabad, that can provide prices close to what we discuss here.
I am always open for online buy; but have a question about warranty; anyone having bad experience with warranty due to online buy?

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I love to have a PC which is durable and upgradable.

Following is the initial configuration I have thought of.
Please correct it and give me the best VFM. Also I really appreciate if you can also post the link for the item you suggest.

Intel i3 4130 (6890)
GA-85M-D3H (5467)

RAM (not sure of 4GB or 8GB !!)
Corsair (1 x 8 GB) DDR3 Vengeance (5528)
OR
Corsair Value select 4GB (2649 x 2 = 5298)

Antec VP450P (2509)
Deepcool Tesseract BF (2600) ??
I doubts its availability (any other link or any other suggestion? )

Seagate 1TB (64MB) (3336)
Asus DRW-24D3ST (1090)

Anything else I should look for?
I have APC BKUP Pro 550 (but is not working as no battery from long time, i will try to get the batter RC#2 at ctc market).

I will try to get by old machined checked for PSU/MB failure, if PSU -- get new and try to sell the machine off, else if MB, Get the cheapest possible upgrade and use it for my Mother/kid. but i am afraid, i have all IDE components.

Thanks in advance
