I had a cheap headphone having sensitivity of 116db, its loud enough to be heard from 5 to 6 feet away at highest volume. I know it damages ear if i use that high volume. But i kinda like the headphones for music/videos have lower sound levels because they are compressed to lower sizes, i rarely put it on highest volume. But its not working now.
Then i purchased Philips SHP 2000. The headphones bass is good and its very comfortable for the ears. But the sound levels are low, the high frequency sounds are not heard that clearly even at highest volume setting. Its sensitivity is 100db.
I just want to know what factcors/specs effect the loudness and the bass in the headphones.
