The Linux Man !
Guys and Gals,

I am planning to buy my second pc for Networking. My basic requirement is that I must be able to practice networking like Configuring DNS, NIS, DHCP, SAMBA, SQUID etc servers in LINUX

I am not at all interested in Gaming.

It will also be used for Oracle Server.

I already have an INTEL machine.

THis time I want to buy an AMD processor.

How much support does Linux provides to AMD and specially AMD 64 bit processors.

I have heard that Some Linux distros don't provide support to AMD for EG Debian Linux has no official support to AMD 64 bit processor.

Suse & Mandriva Linux has 64-bit version , so also Fedora Core 5.
I recommend Mandriva Linux. Since it's very easy to configure also very powerful.
If you know Linux quiet well go for Suse. I'm not sure of the other distros. But Mandriva & Suse surely support AMD 64 bit processors.

Even ubuntu ships 64-bit version and it should work fine with AMD. I don't have firt hand experience but it should do fine.

I have an AMD .. All distro`s work perfectly.. Only Nvidia may give you trouble on older distro`s...
