Display Garbled

Hi..everybody out there.
Recently I am facing a queer situation.The display...especially the letters and fonts become garbled with lot of black dots and lines suddenly.Even the desktop icon breaks into half and are inverted.This generally happens when browsing.There is no other way but to restart the computer.Upon restart everything again works just fine.
My config is
MSI P7N Diamond motherboard
intel q6600 cpu
Msi ati 6650 Graphics 1 gb
4 GB of ram
Avast free edition antivirus
Coolermaster 1000wpsu
win xp pro OS sp3
Can anybody help me sort ou the problem please?

looks like a driver problem. uninstall the AMD drivers & use driver sweeper to remove any file left (in safe mode). install Catalyst 11.1. also what browser are you using? & did you overclock the GPU?

Browser is Firefox 3.6.13 and the catalyst version is of course 11.1.
No the CPU is not overclocked neither the GPU.Its running in its stock speed.
Am not able to figure out the problem.

err..... thats strange. maybe some hotfix is required. also you may clean your PCIe slot & reinstall GPU.

Blow a couple of times hard on the PCI.E x16 dock.

Yes...you are absolutely right.
Used driver sweeper to remove leftover drivers from previous installation and reinstalled Catalyst 11.1 again.
Voila! It worked....tillnow running fine.
